Came in to get a wine as a gift. The lady (I think she is the manager) helped me to pick out a good red wine. Very helpful and friendly. A great collection in the store. Very neat and clean. Relaxing vibes. They have a tasting booth there. Really cool.
I have been coming here for years. Barry might be my favorite person there ever. He's knowledgeable kind, and gives excellent recommendations.
I stopped into the Union Square Wines shop because they stock a particular wine that I like. The 2020 Albert Mann Pinot Blanc is a favorite of mine, but is has become hard to find. I scooped up a bottle, and I grabbed a bottle of Renieri Rosso di Montalcino as well. Both wines were fairly priced. I was in and out of the store in four minutes. The store is next to the 14st Union Square subway station. I'll be back!
Came here since they closed down Trader Joe's wine shop in Union square. There were no descriptions by the bottles so I relied heavily on the Vivino app to tell me what was good until someone approached me and asked if I needed help. He was an older gentleman that was very tall and was so knowledgeable about flavor profiles and different wines. He really made the experience for me, and I attribute my stars all to him and his excellent customer service. I told him the flavor profile I was looking for and he pointed out my two favorite wines without knowing, I wanted to try something new so I trusted his recommendations since he knew what I liked based on my flavor profile. From his demeanor, he seemed like he could be the owner or a manager of the store. Anyway, I grabbed the wines I liked based on his recommendations and go to the register. Totally different experience - the cashier was smacking the counter to put my stuff down like I was a dog. Customer service was zero at the register - so close to ending on a good note! I'm bummed because I was really hoping for this to be my new regular wine shop since my main one closed, but maybe the next one in Union square will be!
Super helpful! Had my Hudson single malt! And helped us figure out how to return via subway! Thank you ladies!!! This was the only store in the area that had what I was looking for. So glad to have found it. A treasure hunt.
